Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Mail Handler to manage the shipping, receiving, sorting, and distribution of mail and packages in our eCommerce operations. The Mail Handler plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, helping to maintain smooth warehouse and order fulfillment operations. This role is critical in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring orders are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:

Mail and Package Sorting

Receive, inspect, and sort incoming mail and packages, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to appropriate departments or locations

Sort outgoing mail and packages based on destination, size, and weight, preparing them for shipment

Ensure all packages and mail are labeled correctly with tracking information and are ready for dispatch

Order Fulfillment Support

Assist the warehouse team in picking and packing orders for shipment

Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure that customer orders are prepared and dispatched on time

Track and update order statuses within the system and ensure customers receive accurate tracking details

Shipping and Receiving

Assist with the shipping of packages, ensuring the use of the most cost-effective and reliable shipping methods
-
Handle incoming shipments by unloading packages, inspecting contents for accuracy, and documenting any discrepancies or damages

Work with carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) to ensure timely and accurate deliveries and pickups

Documentation and Record-Keeping

Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail and packages
-
Use inventory management and tracking systems to log shipments, returns, and any associated documentation

Assist in preparing shipping labels, customs documentation (if required), and packing slips

Package Handling

Ensure all packages are handled with care, minimizing the risk of damage during transportation or storage

Organize and store packages in designated areas, maintaining a clean and orderly mailroom or storage area

Assist in managing returns, ensuring products are processed and restocked according to company policies

Equipment and Safety

Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, package scales, and label printers
-
Follow safety guidelines while handling packages, ensuring proper lifting techniques and the use of any necessary equipment like pallet jacks or hand trucks

Report any damaged or faulty equipment and ensure the mail handling area is safe and free of hazards

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Mail Handler, Shipping/Receiving Clerk, or in a similar logistics or warehouse role is preferred

Familiarity with eCommerce shipping procedures and courier services (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

Ability to operate mailroom equipment and basic knowledge of shipping software

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Basic computer skills for tracking shipments and inputting data into inventory management systems
